2010 SPRING APPEAL
Dear Friend of Rotaplast:
Spring is an especially exciting time for us at Rotaplast. In addition to sending missions to Latin America, and planning for our 2011 calendar, the Board and Staff of Rotaplast took advantage of a break in our hectic schedule to host a Leadership Retreat for Rotaplast Ambassadors and Mission Directors, aspiring and current. The Retreat was a fun-filled 48 hours in San Francisco, and attracted dedicated advocates from all over North America. More than 30 participants exchanged stories regarding their home grown methods for raising funds for Rotaplast, and the trials and tribulations of running our missions.
Our Signature Event: Spring is normally the time that Rotaplast hosts a Volunteer Recognition Dinner. This year, we are marshalling our resources to create a seminal fundraising event, tentatively scheduled for January 29, 2011. This Signature Event promises to be a fun, internationally flavored gala for Rotaplast supporters. We hope to make this event accessible to everyone, and to raise much needed funds to develop our capacity to carry out more missions to farther-away places. Please mark your calendars today.
EARTHSPEAK: You, our donors, are well aware that Rotaplast provides multidisciplinary care for cleft lip and palate, and other conditions requiring reconstructive surgery. Are you also aware that this care includes speech therapy for our young patients? The Earthspeak program organizes speech camps to train parents to complete the recovery process that cleft palate surgery begins. Parents and other lay people are taught to be live-in speech teachers. Rotaplast sponsored a Speech Camp program during its recent mission to Oaxaca, Mexico.
We need your help! We hope that you will consider making a tax deductible donation to Rotaplast’s work–today. There are 3 ways to give: by phone, by mail, or online. Please see the enclosed remittance envelope for details.
We thank you in advance for partnering with us to realize Rotaplast’s vision of eliminating untreated cleft lip and palate, and other conditions requiring reconstructive surgery. Together, we are working towards a world where countries have sustainable programs to treat and prevent these conditions.
Happy Spring!
