We started our 30-hour trek the day after Thanksgiving, eager to share our time and the talents we have been given. The team came together in Paris where old friendships were rekindled and new friendships were begun. When we finally arrived in Lome, Togo, we were relieved to find that all 35 boxes came through, with no glitches.
A friend of the Millenium Hotel greeted us and assisted with transport to the village of Afagnan, 40 miles to the east. Two hours of somewhat bumpy roads brought us to the Millenium Hotel where we received warm greetings from the owner, Gerard Agossa Agbassou, and staff. An al fresco midnight dinner under the stars capped our arrival in Togo.
