Parents have been eagerly anticipating opening day of the mission for months. The Rotary Clubs of Delhi Vasant Valley and Faridabad Central have spread the word region-wide about the free surgeries to repair cleft lips and palates. They placed ads in newspapers and posted signs on poles and in storefronts.
The lobby of the Sarvodaya Hospital was abuzz as families waited to check-in for the pre-op clinic. Each prospective patient was evaluated by the medical staff to be sure they were healthy candidates and the right age for surgery.
We have plenty of work for the next 10 days; life changing operations that will help these children develop to their full potential.
