We’ve had quite the journey since leaving San Francisco International Airport Sunday afternoon with 21 team members and 30 boxes of medical supplies headed for Luxor, Egypt.

Team Luxor ready and waiting.

Two additional team members joined us in Dubai, before we headed off to Egypt the following morning.

Getting through customs in Cairo was quite the adventure!

Team Luxor personally loaded all 30 boxes and all our luggage onto airport carts, and transported them across the airport from the international terminal to the domestic terminal.  Not an easy feat, with two long ramps taking us up a good six floors!

Arriving in Luxor, we were met by Eman Sallam from the Rotary Club of Cairo, and volunteers from the ASF Egypt Intercultural Program alumni, who will help with translation at the hospital.

The sun has set across the Nile River.  We’ve yet to see the hospital where opening clinic will be held in the morning, and our supplies have yet to leave Cairo, but for now, we must sleep.
