On a bright morning in Cebu, Rotoplast held a busy pre-clinic for over 100 children at the Millers Adventist Hospital. Many have traveled long distances to be here and waited patiently for the process to begin. Community and San Jose Rotarians worked together to maintain internet connection for the essential first step of registration.

The event brought together a dedicated team of volunteers and professionals from multiple specialties to ensure each child received thorough assessments, education, and the next steps toward surgical care and ongoing support.

The registration process was efficient and compassionate; volunteer staff assisted with forms, checked contact information, and collected basic medical histories.

Each child was photographed and as part of their medical record to document conditions and track progress through treatment. The photography team worked sensitively with children and caregivers to make the process quick and comfortable, ensuring accurate visual records for surgical planning and follow-up. Unique medical record number assignment allows the child to be carefully tracked throughout the entire process.

Comprehensive Clinical Assessments

After registration and documentation, children were seen by a range of specialists; Pediatrics, Laboratory Services,Surgery and Anesthesia Teams, Speech Therapy and Dental Services.

A Team Effort Focused on Children and Families

The pre-clinic day exemplified multidisciplinary collaboration. Coordinators ensured smooth patient flow between stations, translators and teams of community volunteers bridged language and cultural needs. Educational talks helped parents understand the surgical journey, postoperative care, and long-term support options.
