Today was our day off and after making rounds early in the morning we had a chance to go to a few places in and around Bacolod. We visited the general hospital in town and I think we were all surprised at the large contrast between their standards of health care and our own back home. Some of us also had a chance to visit a preserved Spanish-era house, take a walk around town, and finally we had a beautiful lunch at Sunburst Bay Resort in Silay City. The Rotary Club of Bacolod South has been very accommodating, welcoming and generous in taking care of this team. The rest of the day different groups went their separate ways to enjoy the different sights and culture of Bacolod. Tomorrow we will resume in the operating room.
