When Shah Md Masum first heard about Rotaplast online a couple of years ago in Dhaka, he was very excited but also anxious. He knew the surgery would change his child’s life, but he also knew there were other issues that might prevent the surgery from happening. “There were some heart concerns that we thought might prevent the surgery and we ended up not being able to get it”. This time around was a different story. Finding out their son was cleared for cleft lip and cleft palate surgery was exciting news and has changed their lives. “Rotaplast has made our child and our lives beautiful again – we can’t thank Rotaplast enough for the wonderful work you do, we will remember you all forever.”
So many stories like these don’t have the same happy ending, there are thousands of families that will never get to experience happiness like this due to the lack of access to procedures like this. That’s a problem we can work to fix with the help of Rotaplast volunteers and donors.
