Running at Full Speed
This is Rotaplast at its very best. The fourth day of surgery unfolds in a strong, steady rhythm. Teams are perfectly in sync, patients are operated on with great care, and recovery is progressing as planned. Surgery and discharge follow one another smoothly—exactly the way we like to see it.

Sharing Knowledge for the Future 🎓

Today was not only about surgery, but also about education. Dr. Ilze and Dr. Bijoy delivered a lecture on cleft lips and cleft palates. Dr. Hootan had to rest his voice this time, but will be back later this week.
Sharing knowledge is an essential part of every Rotaplast mission. It allows us to contribute in a sustainable way to the development of local medical expertise. Another lecture is scheduled for next Tuesday—an investment in lasting impact.

International Interest and Connection 🌍

Today, we were honored to welcome several distinguished guests from India and Bangladesh. Among them was Prof. Dr. Omar Faruque Yousuf, vice chancellor of Agartala Government Medical College Hospital and responsible for medical education in the region. The strong interest in our mission shows that our work reaches far beyond the operating rooms.
We hope to further strengthen our roots in the region and expand collaborations in the field of education. In the photo (from left to right): Dr. Bijoy, Dr. Boony, Pradip, Dr. Hootan, Prof. Dr. Anup Kumar Saha, Anna, and Mission Director Randall.

Looking Toward India 🔍

Rotaplast is already active in several regions of neighboring India—north, west, and south. Eastern India could be a promising next step. For this reason, Pradip Kumar invited Prof. Dr. Anup Kumar Saha, a general surgeon and former member of the Indian Parliament (Lok Sabha, 2008–2013). His visit marked an initial exploration of whether a mission there might be possible. The future is wide open.

At the Heart of It All: Our Patients 💙

As important as education and international collaboration are, the heart of the mission always lies with our patients. Today, they are operated on in a smooth, steady flow and are then able to recover and return home.

Every operation represents a step forward—a little more freedom and a new perspective.
