Nagamangala is a wonderful Rotaplast mission introduction for our first-time team members. A warm welcome to Sheree Anderson, RN in our PACU, and Cathy McCullough, RN in the OR, for their expert care-giving. Natalie Karras, PACU Assistant supporting pre-clinic photo taking and caring lovingly for little ones and adults after surgery. A.T. Miller, Mission Recreational Therapist helping to keep our patients occupied and smiling while in our care prior to surgery. Vinay Rao, MD, a Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery resident at Brown University Medical School recruited by his attending Dr. Zienowicz for a mission near his family home in Bangalore. Kathleen Glassie, Mission Historian (amateur). And, a special add-on team member, Joti Vijayakumar, traveling with her husband, team anesthesiologist Vijay, giving of her time providing valuable interpreting services to patients and their families in her native language.
We arrive from all parts of the country; some of us recruited by long-time friends, or perhaps sponsored by a regional Rotary Association and heading across the world not knowing anyone at all. We are all a little unsure of what to expect and wanting only to give of ourselves and to do our best. We leave forever changed and hopeful for the privilege of joining this exceptional team in the future. Thank you, Rotaplast for this life-changing opportunity. We are forever grateful.
