I noticed this young woman and her baby early in the day on the first day of clinic.

Here she is getting through the registration process where they mark the patient to prevent confusion.

The next step in the process is to be photographed by team members along with the file and case number. Again this ensures that there is no confusion on who the patient is and what is being done.

There are several stops along the way prior to surgery. Here mom and baby are shown visiting with the surgeons.

Another stop. Another series of questions.

The next day I found mom and baby in pre-op! I was so excited to continue to document their journey.

I next found the baby in one of the operating rooms. I didn’t arrive before the surgery was completed; however I was able to capture images towards the end of her operating room visit.

The surgeon and anesthesiologists are monitoring her progress.

Every patient is given a very special hand made quilt.

Here she is being taken to post-op. This photo also shows her quilt.

In post-op she is reunited with a very happy mom.

In post-op mom is receiving education/training on proper dental hygiene.

I had the privilege to capture the family.

I also had the privilege of capturing mom and baby.

Here are before and after photos. You can see the dramatic difference the surgery made for this precious child.
