The mission starts with a full-day of patient evaluations in a pre-surgical clinic. The surgeons, pediatricians and nurses evaluate each patient to determine whether the patient will be a good candidate for this surgical mission. All of the volunteer medical and non-medical staff participate along with staff, residents and medical students from the hospital.
