Star has always believed in the power of giving back. For her, service is not just something she does—it’s an extension of who she is. That calling began early, during her Catholic school days, when she volunteered on immersions and spent time with children from underserved communities. It’s a passion that has only deepened over the years.
Born and raised on the island of Negros in the Philippines, Star moved to Cebu in 2015. It was there that she found a new avenue for her heart of service: Rotary. Through Rotary, she discovered Rotaplast—a mission that resonated deeply with her values and desire to make a meaningful impact.
By 2022, after years of unwavering dedication, she returned to her hometown of Negros to work remotely. But her commitment to Rotaplast never wavered.
Now, seven months pregnant, Star continues to show what it means to lead with heart and purpose. With the blessing of her doctor and the support of her husband—a seaman who shares and supports her passion—she made the decision to take part in Rotaplast Cebu’s 20th-anniversary mission. It was a milestone event she couldn’t imagine missing.
Even when new last-minute requirements and special permits threatened to complicate her journey, Star remained undeterred. She pushed forward with faith and determination, believing that divine guidance would light her path—and it did.
What draws her to Rotaplast, she says, are the faces of the children whose lives are forever changed, and the grateful smiles of mothers who entrust their babies to the skilled, compassionate hands of the mission’s medical team. “No words can capture the fulfillment it brings,” she shares. “It’s something that money cannot buy.”
For Star, serving with Rotaplast is more than a volunteer effort. It’s the core of who she is. Her story is a reminder that service doesn’t stop when life changes—in fact, it deepens. Even as she prepares to welcome a new life into the world, she continues to help give new life to others.
Star’s journey is proof that purpose, when rooted in love and faith, can carry us through anything.
