For Regine, the road to Adventist Hospital Cebu was long — both in distance and in emotional weight. She and her family traveled more than seven hours from Valencia, Negros, an island roughly 214 kilometers from Cebu City. Their journey included a ferry ride across the sea and a long bus trip once they reached the mainland, all in pursuit of one thing: healing.

Regine arrived at the Rotaplast surgical clinic accompanied by her greatest supporters — her mother, her mother’s boss, and her younger sister. Her sister, plays an important role in Regine’s life and has been by her side every step of the way.

Her mother first learned about the free Rotaplast surgical mission through Facebook. After researching various organizations, she felt that this was the best path forward for her daughter. Her decision wasn’t only about physical appearance — it was deeply emotional. She worried about how Regine’s cleft lip might affect her future, including the pain of bullying, barriers in finding work, and challenges in marriage. For Regine’s mother, this surgery is a chance to change her daughter’s life — not just how she looks, but how she’s seen and treated by the world.

With immense gratitude, she thanks God for the opportunity to bring Regine to Rotaplast this year.
