Recovery

Recovery review by doctors on the day after cleft palate and lip burn surgery.

After two decades practicing anesthesia abroad, I’ve returned to my beloved Medellin, joining a surgical mission with Rotaplast. This profound homecoming allows me to apply my skills to my hometown, giving back to the community that shaped me. There’s immense pride in knowing I can change a child’s life so profoundly, alleviating challenges and fostering confidence. Every safe anesthesia and repaired smile contributes to an everlasting impact on their future, reminding me of the privilege of my profession and the power of collaboration. It’s truly good to be home.

Indigenous Community

New patients from the indigenous community of the Etnia Tule, these patients arrived from the border Colombia-Panama, after a 15-hour travel. Thanks to the indigenous communities for trusting their children to the professionals of Rotaplas, who, despite the difficulties of not speaking the same languages, came accompanied by their interpreter and showed us that the language that unites us is a smile.
