Where We Go, We Return
Here’s a meaningful fact: even before Chattogram was officially known as Chittagong, Rotaplast was already carrying out medical missions here. And anyone who knows Rotaplast knows this—we never come just once. We return. Again and again. As long as we possibly can.
Why? Because there is still so much work to be done. Because there are still many patients in need. And because we believe in long-term, sustainable partnerships. In Chattogram, we work closely with the Rotary Club of Agrabad and Al Manahil Nurture General Hospital, with whom we have built a strong and committed relationship over the years.

Care Doesn’t End After One Surgery 🩺

Every surgery—no matter how carefully performed—leaves scars. Scar tissue is less flexible and, especially as a person grows, can cause new problems over time. That is exactly why we return: so patients who were helped before can come back for follow-up surgeries, at the right moment—before tension on the skin leads to new limitations.
There is another important reason as well: sometimes a patient simply cannot be fully treated in a single operation. The medical situation may be too complex. That kind of care requires time, attention, and multiple moments of treatment.

The Powerful Story of Monoware Lipi 🌱

Monoware Lipi is one of those patients. Her story is deeply moving. In 2018, she came to a Rotaplast mission for the first time. Her arms, chest, neck, and face had been severely burned. The cause was a kerosene tank explosion at her workplace. She was still very young when it happened.
After the burns, extensive scar tissue developed. Over the years, this tissue became increasingly tight. She began to walk bent over, which led to even more physical problems. Her daily life was severely restricted. Working became difficult, supporting a family nearly impossible. And sadly, social exclusion often follows. One can only imagine how traumatic that must have been.

Step by Step Forward 🌸

But this story is not only about what happened—it is also about what is possible. During earlier surgeries, the tension caused by her scars was relieved and skin grafts were performed. Slowly, Monoware began to find her way back. She is now better able to cope with the harsh realities of daily life in Bangladesh.
Today, she is back with us once again, with one important wish. The scars around the corners of her mouth and her lower lip currently limit her ability to speak and eat. Communication is difficult, and daily meals are a real struggle.

A Smile Within Reach ✨

The good news: the surgery was successful. Soon, Monoware will be able to use her mouth more comfortably—and hopefully smile freely again. We truly hope to welcome her back in the future. And when we do, we hope to see her with a big smile on her face.

Monoware Lipi’s story shows exactly what Rotaplast stands for: lasting care, trust, and lives that gradually open up again—step by step. 💙
