Yesterday 5 month old Ansh came to us as a walk-in with his mother and a friend.  His mother is hearing impaired so her friend helped her communicate with the team.

Today, Ansh had his cleft lip repaired. Since our first day of surgery, we’ve had approximately 15 to 24 walk-ins per day with conditions ranging from, cleft lips and palates to severe burn contractures and minor scare repairs.  Drs. Andrea May and Bryan Stamm have worked hard to triage each patient. Here,  Kunj, nearly 4 months old is examined by Dr. Mark Fisher and given the green light for surgery. We are able to schedule his surgery for a cleft lip repair for tomorrow.  Kunj’s father, Vivek looks on.  The family will spend the night at the hospital as they live approximately 70 kilometers away.  It just so happened that they were in the city and passed by the sign which lead them to Unity Hospital and Rotaplast. Dr. Sheila Wong checks on Sahil prior to taking him into the operating room for a cleft lip repair.19 year old Bhupendra arrived at the hospital a few days into our surgery schedule as a walk-in with his parents.  He needs a cleft lip revision and nose revision. His family is so appreciative of Rotaplast.  They warmly greet the team each time we walk by or stop to visit by Bhupendra’s pre-op bed. Here, Dr. Mark Fisher examines Bhupendra prior to surgery.Rotaplast quartermaster Tony Scheppmann keeps the team supplied with whatever is needed, often riding through the city stopping at various shops in hunt for necessary items.  Here, he aids Dr. Bryan Stamm by reviewing chart information.
