Our first two patients of the day Faizah, 9 years old (left) and Rohit, 8 years old (right) wait quietly with Maureen Lackey ward coordinator just outside of the operating area. Faizah will receive a release of a burn scare contracture with a skin graft.Rohit was the first to come out of the OR with his cleft lip repaired.
Relief came over Rohit when his father entered the recovery room, helped him drink some water and sat with him rubbing his back until it was time to go up to the 5th floor post-op ward.
