On this Tuesday morning, a beautiful sunrise greeted us on our first full day of surgery. Anxious parents filled the atrium as they waited patiently for their child to be called to surgery. The look of relief on their faces when they were reunited with their quilt wrapped post-op children was extremely heartwarming.

The quilts are made specially for Wrap-A-Smile by International Quilters, a Rotary Project. Each patient gets to take this unique, warm and colorful keepsake home.

The essence of our mission was accomplished successfully as the surgical teams worked together for the first time. We wrapped up a long, but satisfying day of surgery. Sweet dreams for these beautiful families began today.
