Many Different Life-Changing Surgeries

A Rotaplast mission is about so much more than what is often mentioned first: repairing a cleft lip or cleft palate. Of course, these procedures are truly life-changing, but during our missions we care for a much wider variety of patients and perform many different types of surgeries. It is precisely this diversity that shows how broad and deep the impact of Rotaplast really is.

More Than One Kind of Care 🩺

A significant number of surgeries also focus on severe burn injuries. Burns do not only leave scars; they can literally block the path toward a better life. In countries like Bangladesh, not being able to properly use one’s body or limbs is a major limitation. In daily life, at school, at work, and in social settings, this creates a serious disadvantage compared to peers. A world becomes smaller—while everyone deserves the space to grow.

Freedom to Move 🌱

Scar tissue is stiff and inflexible. It can cause deformities and contractures that restrict movement and make everyday activities difficult or even impossible. By surgically correcting these scars, space is created—quite literally. Space to move, to function better, and to live more independently. For our patients, this often means an enormous step forward.

Tangible Impact, Every Day 🌟

During the first two days of surgery alone, we have already been able to help many different patients. Each with their own story, their own challenges, and a future that opens up a little more after surgery. This wide range of life-changing procedures clearly shows what Rotaplast stands for: one mission, one goal—achieved through different medical approaches.

And so, mission after mission, surgery by surgery, lives are transformed in many ways—with every procedure, a little more freedom. 💙
