Ready to Begin
Today is the day: the first surgeries are underway. The team prepares for an important milestone. Patients are brought in, all medical files are ready with the correct forms, and after a brief team huddle, the signal is given to start. From this moment on, we lay the foundation for the days ahead—the base of a well-oiled machine in which everyone knows their role and trusts one another.

On the Way to the OR 🩺

Together with our interpreters, we escort the young patients to the operating rooms. In the waiting area, there is still time to play, laugh, and be gently distracted, helping to ease pre-surgery nerves. For the youngest children, there’s always something to keep them entertained. Do they already realize that this moment will change their lives? Most likely, that understanding comes after surgery—when they begin to feel what this procedure truly means for them.

Teamwork on Every Level 🤝

Not only in the operating rooms are routine, calm, and clear communication essential. The same is true on the wards—the nursing units where patients stay before and after surgery. This is where preparation, care, and aftercare come together. When everything runs as it should, there is space for relief, joy, and above all: smiles.

A Day Full of Meaning 🌟

With this first day of surgeries, the tone is set for the rest of the mission. It is inspiring to see how everything comes together—the dedication of the team, the care for each patient, and the support of interpreters and helpers. Step by step, Rotaplast continues to work toward its single goal: changing lives, one surgery at a time.
